A native Angeleno, Kathleen Weil still lives in Los Angeles and loves discovering the beauty in all aspects of Southern California. She has been painting with pastels for over 10 years and is a member of the Pastel Society of Southern California and the Pastel Society of America.

 

Her paintings have been included in several national, juried exhibitions including the International Association of Pastel Societies 34th, 35th, 39th, 40th and 43rd exhibitions, Pastel Society of America 46th, 49th and 52nd Annual Exhibitions, and Borrego Art Institute 14th Annual Plein Air Invitational. In 2017, her painting Green Car won an Honorable Mention and appeared in the magazine Pastel Journal as part of their 18th Annual Pastel 100 competition.

In 2022, her painting Kaffeklatsch won second place in the gold level of the Pastel Society of California Members' Exhibition and Waiting in Red won Best of Show in the RED - Red Rock Pastel Society of Nevada 2022 International Exhibition.

The acceptance of the painting, The Red Hat, into the IAPS 43rd Exhibition earned Kathleen a place in Masters Circle of the International Association of Pastel Societies and the title Master Pastelist.
